LIAM ROSENIOR EXPRESSES HOPE FOR LEVI COLWILL'S RETURN THIS SEASON AMID ONGOING RECOVERY

LIAM ROSENIOR EXPRESSES HOPE FOR LEVI COLWILL'S RETURN THIS SEASON AMID ONGOING RECOVERY

**Chelsea Head Coach Liam Rosenior has provided an encouraging update on defender Levi Colwill's rehabilitation from a serious knee injury, stating he remains hopeful the England international could feature again before the end of the 2025/26 campaign.**

Colwill, 22, has been sidelined since suffering an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture during pre-season in August 2025, raising initial doubts about his participation this term. However, recent progress has seen the centre-back return to light training on the pitch at Cobham, including running exercises, as part of a carefully managed recovery program.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's upcoming fixtures, Rosenior addressed Colwill's status: "I'm hopeful. I'm hopeful because he's an outstanding player. Again, no time frames. You have to take these long-term injuries day by day. And also, it's not about when he comes back, it's about him staying fit when he is back." He added, "It’s step by step, and I don’t want to make promises that I can’t keep. At the moment, Levi is in a really good place. He’s on the right track, but I don’t want to put pressure on him. It's been brilliant to see him back on the pitch running. He is itching to get back, but we need to make sure he feels 100 per cent perfect."

Rosenior emphasized the club's cautious approach, prioritizing Colwill's long-term health over a rushed return. "He's really good. What a professional. He's working so hard," the coach noted, highlighting the defender's dedication.

Colwill's potential comeback would provide a significant boost to Chelsea's defensive options as they compete in the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and domestic cups. The academy graduate, who has earned caps for England, is seen as a cornerstone of the squad's future.

The club will continue to monitor Colwill's progress closely, with no specific return date announced at this time. Further updates will be provided as developments occur.
