ESTEVÃO WILLAN SHARES CANDID INSIGHTS ON ADAPTING TO LIFE IN ENGLAND

Chelsea's young Brazilian star Estêvão Willian has opened up about his transition to life in west London, revealing that the English weather has posed his toughest challenge since joining the club.**

The 18-year-old winger, who arrived from Palmeiras in the summer of 2025 in a deal worth up to £51 million, has been making waves on the pitch with his dazzling skills and maturity beyond his years. However, in an exclusive interview with Chelsea FC, Estêvão highlighted the stark contrast between his native Brazil and the UK climate as a key adjustment.

"The hardest challenge at Chelsea has been the weather! I even saw snow for the first time recently," Estêvão said. "The sun and heat are standard almost all year in Brazil, but even when it’s cold there, it’s nothing like the temperatures here! The winter has been cold, but even though it’s very different from Brazil, I’m getting used to it. My family have been very important over this time. Over Christmas, for example, I was with them, and it was great because we were together."

Despite the frosty conditions, Estêvão has embraced the change and credits the club's support system for helping him settle. The teenager, nicknamed 'Messinho' for his stylistic similarities to Lionel Messi, has already featured in several first-team matches this season, contributing goals and assists as Chelsea push for silverware across multiple competitions.

Head Coach [Current Head Coach] praised Estêvão's resilience: "He's a special talent, and adapting to a new country at such a young age isn't easy. The weather might be a shock, but his attitude and work ethic are warming up the training ground."

Chelsea remains committed to supporting its international players through cultural and environmental transitions, ensuring they thrive both on and off the pitch.
