Chelsea Football Club is delighted to celebrate a significant milestone for our first-choice goalkeeper, **Robert Sánchez**, who has today reached **100 appearances** for the Blues.
The Spanish international achieved this landmark during a recent Premier League fixture, becoming the 244th player in Chelsea's illustrious history—and the 21st goalkeeper—to reach a century of appearances since the club's formation in 1905.
Sánchez joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2023 for an initial £20 million fee (plus add-ons) and quickly established himself as a key figure between the posts. Wearing the iconic No.1 shirt, he has brought commanding presence, excellent distribution, and shot-stopping ability to the team.
In his 100 outings across all competitions, Sánchez has recorded an impressive tally of clean sheets—including 22 in the Premier League alone—while contributing to major honours such as the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Conference League triumphs under the current regime. His performances have been instrumental in Chelsea's defensive resilience and push for top-flight and European success.
Head coach Liam Rosenior praised the 28-year-old's dedication and professionalism: "Reaching 100 appearances is a testament to Rob's consistency, work ethic, and importance to our squad. He's grown into one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the league, and we're proud to have him leading our backline. This milestone is well deserved, and we're all looking forward to many more successful chapters together."
Sánchez himself reflected on the achievement: "It's a proud moment to hit 100 games for a club of Chelsea's stature. The journey since arriving has been incredible—the fans, the teammates, the trophies—it's all made it special. I'm grateful for the trust shown in me and motivated to keep pushing for more silverware and clean sheets."
The entire Chelsea family—players, staff, and supporters worldwide—joins in congratulating Robert on this fantastic milestone. Here's to the next 100 and beyond!
