Chelsea Football Club Statement on Premier League Sanctions

Chelsea Football Club today acknowledges the sanctions imposed by the Premier League following the conclusion of two separate disciplinary processes.

The Club has accepted fines totalling £10.75 million for historical breaches of Premier League rules relating to financial reporting, third-party investment, and youth development. These matters pertain to the period under the previous ownership of Roman Abramovich.

In addition, the Premier League has imposed an immediate nine-month ban on academy player transfers and a one-year first-team player transfer ban, which has been suspended for a period of two years.

Chelsea FC voluntarily self-reported potential historical breaches, cooperated fully with the Premier League’s investigation, and has accepted the independent Commission’s ratified sanction agreements.

The Club views these matters as resolved and remains fully committed to upholding the highest standards of governance, financial transparency, and compliance with all Premier League and regulatory requirements under its current ownership.

Chelsea FC continues to focus on sustainable growth, the development of its talented academy players, and delivering success on the pitch for our supporters.
